Vintage Italian Pretties

Shhhh, don’t tell anyone but I’m up in my studio playing around with flowers.  I’m supposed to be sewing, I have orders to fill.

I found a fabulous bag full of vintage italian beaded flowers at the Big Flea, ummm, I’d say about a year and a half ago.  That is so my MO, see something great for a project, grab it, bring it home.  The end.  I have SO many great ideas, my closet is full of them!

In the middle of sewing tonight, these flowers were sitting there in the bag just calling my name.   I got the nudge that I needed to finish this one when I found the perfect wreath form at the thrift store earlier this week.  It was just a woven reed wreath form, but it had a cardboard backing on it.  Hmmmm.

So I pulled off the yucky flowers that were stuck to this wreath and pried off the backing.  I added some pretty vintage wallpaper and reapplied it after spray painting the wreath white.

Then I started wiring the flowers on.

I’m loving it!  It’s a keeper.

  1. Your new creation is MOLTO FABULOSO! And of course you would stop one thing to go do the other thing that you’re suddenly inspired to do! Are you an artist, or what! 🙂

  2. Hi Suzy – those beaded flowers must be the find of the century! I’m glad that you have made something sooooo wonderful with them. It is so adorable – I just love it! (I know what you mean – it’s nice to put sewing aside sometimes, for more instant crafting, isn’t it?)
I would comment on your post above, but have no clue what you are talking about! I guess its a US only show!
