  1. I have never grown hollyhocks. But to me, they are the ultimate old-fashioned flower. I’m putting them on my list for next year. If I keep adding things to this list, I shall have to start up on the roof. Which is the “green” thing to do right now anyway. Neighbors would have a cow! Thanks for the pretty blossoms to savor with my morning cup of coffee, Suzy-Q!

  2. I love the way one beautiful thing can inspire the creation of many different things……photos, fabric, paintings, etc.
    Thanks for this post!

  3. Gorgeous hollyhocks Suzy.
Such a lovely old fashioned cottage flower – love them. (Sadly I had to clear mine away for the autumn at the w/e – thats it for another year – but I saved plenty of seeds to scatter.)
Enjoy your last moments of summer,

  4. Your beautiful hollyhocks bring back some truly dear memories for me! My mother planted them when she was a young mother and they grew outside the window of our little breakfast nook that my father made. We could have lunch and watch for bumblebees and hummingbirds. What a treat! Thanks for the memory reminder!
