Over the sink in my kitchen is a tile mural that I inherited with this house. 

 I'm not a fan.

I've always had it covered up with a picture so with the 70's theme redecorating that I am doing, new artwork seemed in order.

I put my best 70's crafting skills to work and pulled out the Mod Podge, the Gesso, the string, some buttons and appliques , my craft paints and went to work.

My inspiration came from this fabulous 70's crewel work.

I started with a stretched canvas and slathered it with gesso, then I built up my letters using card stock.

After embellishments, more gesso, paint and then of course antiquing, we have some 70's love for the kitchen.
